Every high school in Jefferson County offers a number of work-based learning programs and the benefits of these programs can be extraordinary.  Students can learn by actually exploring a career path into a workplace or profession while still attending high school.  Some students will have the opportunity to continue working with their employer after high school graduation.  However, employers are not required to hire students after graduation.  Other students will enter college with a better understanding of work and a shaper interest in potential careers.

The student involved in the work based learning program is supported by a school representative and a business representative.  We urge you and your child to learn more about these programs.  To find out who your contact is at the school district click on the following link (School to Career Coordinator) or give us a call at the Jefferson County School to Career Consortium office.
